Zack Ostapchuk, Jeffrey Viel produce massive fight in Ducks-Sharks

A massive fight between San Jose Sharks center Zack Ostapchuk and Anaheim Ducks left wing Jeffrey Viel broke out during Wednesday night’s game.
With the Ducks leading 3-2 early in the third period, the players engaged in a knock down drag out brawl for around 10 seconds. The fight was eventually broken up once Viel slung Ostapchuk to the ice face first. The Sharks’ center sported a nice shiner to the cheek in the penalty box.
Ostapchuk, who is in the midst of his third NHL season (second with the Sharks), boasts three goals and two assists this season. Viel, who formerly played for the Sharks from 2020-2023, is in his first season with the Ducks. He boasts two goals and six assists through 27 games.
