Overnight wildfire burns half acre near Boulder’s Chautauqua Park

A wildfire burned a half acre near the Enchanted Mesa Trailhead in Boulder’s Chautauqua Park on Sunday night.

The fire was contained to a half acre but was not put out as of 8:54 a.m., according to Boulder police spokesperson Dionne Waugh. Crews were on the scene as of 11:04 p.m. Sunday night, according to a Boulder Fire-Rescue post on X.

There are no closures in effect, according to Sam Clusman, the Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks spokesperson. The burn area was small and did not impact any trails, she said.

Crews are inspecting the area and will make sure visitors stay out of the burn area, Clusman said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Waugh said.

Information about the status of the wildfire response and what was burned was not available.
