Tom Felton Extends Run In Broadway’s ‘Harry Potter And The Cursed Child’

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child‘s Tom Felton is extending his wildly popular run in the Broadway hit by six months, now starring as Draco Malfoy through Sunday, November 1.

Felton, who played a younger version of the same character in all all eight of the blockbuster Harry Potter films, began his engagement at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre on November 11, 2025, revitalizing public interest in the play that opened in 2018.

Since Felton joined the production, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has consistently held the top spot on the Broadway grosses. The play, originally a two-parter now presented in a single part, is the highest grossing production in the history of the Lyric Theatre, setting a box office record of $3.7M for the nine-performance week ending December 28, 2025.

Felton will have some time off between now and November, however: He is not scheduled to appear at performances May 11-31, August 17-23, September 14-20, and October 12-18.

His extension was announced today by producers.

In addition to Felton, the current cast includes John Skelley as Harry Potter and Trish Lindstrom as Ginny Potter, with Emmet Smith as their son Albus Potter. Rachel Christopher and Daniel Fredrick play Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively, with Janae Hammond as their daughter Rose Granger-Weasley. Aidan Close plays Draco’s son Scorpius Malfoy. Kristen Martin plays Delphi Diggory.

The play is set 19 years after the end of the original film series. Draco, now a father, along with Harry, Ron and Hermione are all grown up and sending their own children off to Hogwarts. Felton’s casting is the first time a member of the original film cast has joined the stage production.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, written by Thorne and directed by Tiffany. Producers are Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions.
