Peter Dinklage Joins FX’s ‘Alien: Earth’ For Season 2

EXCLUSIVE: We have the first major cast addition to FX‘s Alien: Earth for its upcoming second season. Emmy winner Peter Dinklage has been tapped as a new series regular on the sci-fi drama from Fargo creator Noah Hawley.

No information about Dinklage’s character is being revealed. This marks Game of Thrones alum’s return to FX where he had a major recurring role on Nip/Tuck and recently guest starred on Season 1 of The Lowdown.

Inspired by Ridley Scott’s sci-fi thriller film Alien, the series stars Sydney Chandler as humanoid robot Wendy. Season 1’s cast also includes Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille and Moe Bar-El.

Production on Season 2 is expected to begin in May at London’s Pinewood Studios, home to the original 1979 movie, Alien 3 and prequel Prometheus, after Season 1 was filmed in Thailand.

The series is created for television and executive produced by Hawley. Scott, David W. Zucker, Clayton Krueger, Emilia Serrano, Bob DeLaurentis, Peter Calloway, Monica Macer, John Campisi and Simon Emanuel also executive produce. Alien: Earth is produced by FX Productions.

Dinklage, a four-time Emmy winner for HBO’s Game of Thrones, recently starred on Showtime’s Dexter: Resurrection. He is in two movies that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, Wicker and Idiots. Dinklage is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
