“Hey Voice fans! Jimmy Butler here in the flesh, super excited to be here,” Butler said in a video teasing his meet-up with The Voice Coaches, calling himself a “super fan.” The video also reveals that Butler will give Clarkson, Levine, and Legend an NBA-worthy introduction to kick off the two-night Finale event. “Go Coaches!”

With his NBA career dating back 2011, Butler has played for the Chicago Bulls, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Miami Heat, and currently, the Golden State Warriors. What’s more, he’s also been known to take the mic and show off his own singing chops.
In 2024, Butler was seen belting out to Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” while signing autographs for fans. Just recently, Butler amped up the crowd at a Warriors’ Open Practice when he sang Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tispy).” Back in 2015, in a video for the Chicago Bulls, Butler revealed he’s not only Swiftie and is a big fan of her 2012 bop “I Knew You Were Trouble,” he joked about exploring a future singing career after he ages out of basketball. “This is my calling, this is what I do, I sing,” he said in the interview. “I only got like a couple more years at this basketball thing ’cause singing is really starting to take over.”
Butler may love to sing, but he was off by a long shot in the sports department. But now, the NBA forward will immerse himself in the most musical environment possible of the set of The Voice!
In The Voice’s video revealing Butler’s upcoming debut, the NBA star can been seen mingling with Clarkson, Legend, and Levine behind the scenes. “I get to hang out with Kelly, with John, with Adam,” Butler says in the video, asking for music advice from Levine, who would rather play a game of HORSE.
