Dobson appeared to head to the locker room during the second period of the game after blocking a shot in front of the Habs’ net, and was subsequently ruled out before the beginning of the third frame.

The team did not report an injury for the seventh-year defenceman.

Dobson, 26, joined the Canadiens via trade in the off-season after spending the first six years of his career with the New York Islanders. The Canadiens sent two first-round draft picks and winger Emil Heineman to New York to acquire Dobson.

He signed an eight-year deal worth $76 million shortly after the trade was completed.

In 79 games this year, Dobson has 12 goals and 47 points.

The native of Summerside, PEI was selected in the first round (12th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft by the Islanders.

In 467 career NHL games, Dobson has 62 goals and 277 points.
