Wow. What a half of football for Leeds United. And what a test interim boss Michael Carrick has on his hands as he looks to turn around what is on course for a historic humiliation at Old Trafford for Manchester United.
Leeds are two goals to the good and deservedly so, with Noah Okafor’s brace proving the difference.
They broke the deadlock on five minutes but could’ve been ahead on three, if not for the goalkeeping actions of Senne Lammens to deny Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Then at 2-0, it looked certain to be three as Ao Tanaka rounded the keeper after robbing United of possession – but there was Lisandro Martinez to produce a last-ditch tackle on the line.
If Leeds coming like this, though, it’ll be three soon enough. Then four. They smell blood. United are in disbelief.
