Little House on the Prairie Reboot Trailer: Meet Netflix’s Ingalls Family

Netflix released the first teaser for its upcoming “Little House of the Prairie” series.
Adapted from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s book series, which was based on her own childhood and was published 1932 and 1943 with a final book published in 1971 after her death, the series follows the Ingalls family as they begin a new life in rural Minnesota. The new series will debut on Netflix on July 9.
The teaser is narrated by Laura (Alice Halsey), who says, “Once upon a time, Ma and Pa and Mary and Laura left the Big Woods of Wisconsin and moved to the prairie, where a new life was waiting for them. Every day and every night was an adventure. And even though they were all alone, and very small against the sky and the stars, they were happy. Because they were a family, and they were together.”
The official logline for “Little House on the Prairie” reads, “Part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West, this fresh adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s iconic semi-autobiographical Little House books offers a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.”
Rebecca Sonnenshine serves as showrunner, and executive produces alongside Joy Gorman Wettels for Joy Coalition, Trip Friendly for Friendly Family Productions and Dana Fox. Directors include Sarah Adina Smith, Julie Anne Robinson, Kat Candler, Erica Tremblay and Sydney Freeland. CBS Studios and Anonymous Content produce the series.
