On the road to the NFL Draft, Dane Brugler’s annual “The Beast” guide serves as one of the key markers before a turn for home. Dane had a top five of Arvell Reese, Jeremiyah Love, Fernando Mendoza, Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs on his updated board. How does the consensus board compare, both there and throughout the top 100?
Our consensus NFL Draft board combines rankings from a wide range of experts to identify how the top prospects are viewed relative to the rest of the class. In theory, by the time we reach draft weekend, these rankings should help give us a handle on how the picks could (or, at least, should) play out.
The updated consensus top 100:

All things considered, there hasn’t been much movement atop the board since our update earlier in April. Love and Auburn edge Keldric Faulk took the “biggest” tumbles within the top 20 — they fell a whopping two spots each, down from No. 1 and No. 17, respectively. Love has been replaced in that top slot by Reese, with Mendoza up to No. 2.
You have to drift all the way down to No. 65 to find a prospect making a semi-significant climb — Missouri LB Josiah Trotter, up from No. 70 to 65. Arizona State CB Keith Abney II (77 to 71), Ole Miss DT Zxavian Harris (83 to 72), UConn WR Skyler Bell (88 to 81), Stanford TE Sam Roush (95 to 87) and Texas A&M DT Tyler Onyedim (100 to 93) all received similar bumps, although none is really threatening Round 1 at this point.
So, what’s this all mean? Well, it could provide a hint that at least the top 30-40 prospects aren’t likely to budge a whole lot between now and draft weekend. That’s not to say they’ll all be drafted exactly in the order they present above — or even that they’re Round 1/Round 2 locks — but the draft picture does appear to be coming into some focus.
