Adam Levine Changed Up His Hair & Debuted a Fresh Buzzed Look on The Voice — PHOTOS

Perhaps envious of the way that his fellow The Voice: Battle of Champions Coach Kelly Clarkson is able to change up her hairstyle with seemingly every round of the competition, Coach Adam Levine debuted a new look during the Semi-Final performances on April 13, showing up with a bleached blonde buzz cut, the kind we’ve seen him rock a few times before.
How to Watch
Watch The Voice two-night finale event Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14 at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.
When Levine first went blonde, he told E! News, “I wanted to do something crazy. I don’t know why I did it…I really couldn’t tell you logically there was a reason. I just wanted to do it and honestly, it’s so much of a headache now I might want to shave my head or something.” Oh, how true those words turned out to be!
During the most recent episode of The Voice Season 29, Levine did “something crazy” once again by lightening up and buzzing his hair.

A brief history lesson on the many hairstyles of Mr. Levine. The natural brunette tends to keep his straight hair on the shorter, sometimes spikier side. For the first few seasons of The Voice, he looked like a fresh-faced, respectable young rock star with notably fewer neck tattoos. Then around Season 6, he discovered that maybe blondes do have more fun. After that, all bets were off. He had a beard one year and shaved everything off the next. Season 10 was his pink phase, followed by not one but two so-platinum-it’s-white eras.

Adam Levine’s hair color has caused a “debate” on The Voice
More recently, during The Voice Season 27’s Playoffs, Levine suddenly showed up with a shock of icy silver hair, sparking a debate over what to call the hue, which did not match his dark brown scruff.
“There’s a debate backstage as to what color that is,” Coach Michael Bublé explained.
“You could call it blonde, you could call it silver,” offered Coach Kelsea Ballerini.
While they were nice enough not to imply that Levine might be going grey, John Legend hypothesized that Levine was using grey hair to “denote [his] OG status” as a Coach.
Levine himself described it as a “platinum-y, icy white color,” while Bublé later joked, “It’s like Dick Van Dyke and David Beckham had a baby…sexy.”
