Liverpool Lime Street cancellations as passengers face long delays – recap

Train services are unable to run between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Lime Street heading towards Liverpool Lime Street due to a points failure. Network Rail staff are on site and are trying to rectify the issue.
Train services can call at stations between Liverpool Lime Street and Hunts Cross heading towards Warrington Central however services are subject to short notice delays and cancellations due to this issue.
Services on the following routes will/may be affected by this disruption:
- Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street
- Manchester Oxford Road via Warrington Central to Liverpool Lime Street
Northern services between Manchester Airport via Earlestown and Liverpool Lime Street are not affected.
National Rail has advised customers to continue your journey using the alternative suggestions below.
- Merseyrail services between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Stations
- TransPennine Express services between Manchester Stations and Liverpool Lime Street

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
