A year later, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Daredevil star Charlie Cox has finally played the hit J’RPG: “I’m not very good at it”

Daredevil actor Charlie Cox has revealed he’s finally played some of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, although he hasn’t beaten it yet.
In an interview with GamesRadar+ ahead of the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards, Cox reveals that, almost a year after the game’s massive run began and it became the most-awarded game in history across other awards shows, “I’ve since played a bit of it.” However, he adds, “Not the whole thing, I haven’t completed it.”
Granted, the process is somewhat daunting, as he says, “there are people who’ve played it, there are people who’ve completed it, there are people who have 100%’d it, which – as far as I could work out – is 50 plus hours, maybe 100 hours, sometimes, of gameplay.” As for his adventure, he says, “I’ve played the opening bit for a while and kind of walked around and met the people and garnered the information and all that kind of stuff. Not very well.”

“Those games I just listed… They weren’t, like, stories that were so carefully carved out and created over the course of a game with the level of detail and the way in which information is received. It’s not just all spelled out – you discover these things as you go on through the game,” Cox explains, likening modern storytelling to “a movie you get to participate in.”
