Xfinity’s first North Augusta store follows Comcast’s broadband expansion in Aiken County

NORTH AUGUSTA — North Augusta now has its own Comcast Xfinity store.

The store opened at 1229 Knox Ave. late in March, with the grand opening taking place April 17. It’s only the fourth Xfinity location in the CSRA, and it’s one that builds on the provider’s recent broadband expansion in Aiken County, completed in 2022.

The North Augusta store expands Xfinity’s retail footprint (at 3,000 square feet, it’s about twice the size of the Augusta store off Robert C. Daniel Parkway).

Rachel Ozias, vice president of sales and marketing for Xfinity’s Big South region, said having a retail footprint gives hands-on access and boosts the overall customer service experience.

That overall expansion — the store and the broadband connections — is allowing individuals and businesses more access to high-speed Internet, mobile, entertainment and other tech solutions that now comes with a boosted customer experience.

Because Internet, streaming, mobile … the tech happens where we can’t see it. Learning what options are even out there, fixing any problems that might occur, getting set up in the first place: having a real-time, personal interaction can ground it all.

“What we love about a store is that it can be hands-on. We can have our customers come in here and touch and feel our products, really work face-to-face, right? There’s nothing better than being in front of our customers, talking to the folks in the community,” said Rachel Ozias, regional vice president of sales and marketing for Xfinity’s Big South region.

Jordon Evans, in white, previously ran one of Xfinity’s two Augusta locations. Now, he’s heading up North Augusta’s. The grand opening was April 17.

Some of those who’ve utilized the closest Xfinity store, that on Robert C. Daniel, might find another personal touch. Jordon Evans, who previously oversaw that store, is transitioning over to now lead the one in North Augusta.

“It’s a big deal for us,” North Augusta Mayor Briton Williams said. The whole region is growing, and there’s room enough, demand enough, Williams said, that Comcast could have picked just about anywhere to open its next Xfinity store.
