New York Powerball winner: Who sold the $1 million ticket?

A lottery player in New York won $1 million in Sunday’s Powerball drawing after matching five numbers, narrowly missing the jackpot.

The winning ticket was sold at Unique News and Smoke at 2218 Broadway in New York. The player matched all five white balls — 24, 25, 39, 46, and 61 — but not the Powerball number 1, earning the game’s second-place prize.

No one claimed the jackpot, which had an estimated value of $75.8 million with a cash option of $34.6 million.

Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Players select five numbers from a pool of one to 69 and one Powerball number from a separate field of one to 26.
