If you’ve been wondering how much BMW’s snazzy new compact EV SUV will cost, we now have the full breakdown. The 2027 BMW iX3 50 xDrive will start at $62,850, but that’s before you start adding options, which can balloon the bottom line by a lot. BMW has also finally revealed the iX3’s EPA-estimated range figures, which are considerably higher than its closest rivals’.
For just under $63K, the new iX3 50 xDrive comes with a 463-hp dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain. That gets you the SUV’s novel windshield-spanning dashboard display, as well as a host of other standard features, such as ambient interior lighting, bi-directional charging, and myriad driver assists (adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitor, lane-keep assist). For comparison, all-wheel-drive alternatives such as the Porsche Macan EV and Cadillac Optiq start at $86,350 and $56,195, respectively.
With its smallest wheels and no-cost summer tires, the 2027 BMW iX3 50 xDrive has an estimated driving range of 434 miles, according to the EPA. However, sticking with the standard all-season rubber reduces that estimate to 483 miles. The iX3 can also be fitted with 21-inch wheels, which nets a 398-mile range with summer tires or 399 with all-seasons. For those who want the available 22-inchers (solely sold with summer rubber), they’ll only be capped at 392 miles of range. Meanwhile, the AWD Optiq peaks at 303 miles of range, and the AWD Macan EV tops out at 304 miles.
BMW will let you configure your ideal iX3 on its consumer site right now. There are a variety of options, including $650 paint colors, a $750 Parking Assistant package, a $1500 Comfort package, a $1900 Technology package, Driving Assistance Professional and M Sport packages (each $2500), and a $4000 M Sport Professional package—not to mention several stand-alone options that range from $200 to $3600. However, selecting all of them will put the iX3’s price in the neighborhood of $80,000. BMW says its newest electric compact luxury SUV will go on sale sometime this September.
