Canada is testing the Alert Ready emergency system over next 2 days

Many Canadians will see notifications from the national emergency alert system over the next two days.
A test message and tone from Alert Ready will be broadcast on television, radio and compatible wireless devices. There is no option to opt out of the test, nor from real emergency alerts.
Below are the times set for the testing on Wednesday:

- Alberta will receive the tests at 1:55 p.m. local time
- B.C. will receive the tests at 1:55 p.m. local time
- New Brunswick will receive the tests at 10:55 a.m. local time
- Manitoba will receive the tests at 1:55 p.m.
- Newfoundland and Labrador will receive the tests at 9:55 a.m.
- The Northwest Territories will receive the tests at 9:55 a.m.
- Nova Scotia will get the test at 1:55 p.m. local time
- Nunavut will get the test at 1:55 p.m. local time
- P.E.I. will receive the test at 12:55 p.m. local time
- Yukon will receive the test at 1:55 p.m. local time

Ontario is the only province that will be tested on Thursday at 1:55 p.m. ET.

Quebec’s testing has yet to be scheduled, and Saskatchewan’s has been cancelled.
