Manchester United are looking to next season after qualifying for the Champions League, and the Red Devils will appear as if they’re already in the 2026-27 campaign in their final two games

Manchester United will break tradition next weekend when they debut next season’s home shirt against Nottingham Forest. The Red Devils welcome Forest to Old Trafford on an as-yet-confirmed date for their final home game of the current campaign.
But after last Sunday’s trilling 3-2 victory over Liverpool secured their place in next season’s Champions League, United are already thinking about what’s next. Although United are facing plenty of unknowns between now and August, including Michael Carrick’s future as manager, their new home kit is ready to go.
That’s why, for the first time, United will debut next season’s shirt at the end of an existing campaign. The Mail report that United’s 2026-27 home kit will be worn against Forest as well as in their final game away to Brighton on Sunday, May 24.
It’s become increasingly common for clubs to show off their new kits in their last home game, something which the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have done for several years. Bayern Munich even wore their 26-27 home strip in Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

United’s new kit is once again manufactured by Adidas as part of a £900million deal which runs until 2035. The red shirt, which includes a collar, is inspired by the Red Devils’ kits of the 1970s and includes Adidas’ classic three stripes on the sleeves.
Their away kit is set to be blue with white and red trim, reminiscent of their old third kit used between 1986 and 1988. As for next season’s third shirt, leaks show it to be off-white with the devil symbol on the centre of the chest as opposed to United’s crest.

But will it be Carrick who leads United out in their new threads? Formal talks are yet to take place between the 44-year-old and the club’s hierarchy, but 10 wins in 13 games have made him the clear favourite.
“It’s not about what I like or what I do not like. It’s not in my control,” Carrick said on Sunday. “Everything has gone so well, we know the situation and where we are. I am happy with where we are at the moment and we still want to get better. Let’s see what happens next. At this moment in time, it’s not something I am thinking about.”
