Columbus Weather: Wet Wednesday with cooler temps; rain chances next few days

Wet Wednesday with cooler temps. Rain will move south early Thursday followed by some sunshine and mild temps. Rain returns later Friday and sticks around through the weekend and into next week.

  • FRIDAY: Increasing clouds with rain returning, especially during the second half of the day, high 70.

  • SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy, scattered rain and storms, high 80.
  • MONDAY: Mostly cloudy, scattered rain and storms, high 80.
  • TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy, scattered rain and storms, high 82.

Good Wednesday morning! Grab the rain gear today. We will have rain and showers for much of the day, including a few rumbles of thunder. We even have a few pockets of fog trying to form this morning between the pockets of rain. Temps are starting in the upper 60s and around 70 this morning, then falling into the lower 60s this afternoon and 50s this evening. Rain showers continue through the afternoon and evening before gradually dissipating and drifting south overnight. If you’re heading to the Bruno Mars concert tonight at Ohio Stadium, be prepared for rain. Rainfall totals today will range between a quarter and half an inch for much of Ohio. North winds at 5–15 mph will make it feel a little cooler. Rain chances are around 80% today.

Thursday looks like the nicest day in the 7-day forecast. Early rain showers in Southern Ohio will drift farther south, then clouds give way to some sunshine. Clouds will linger in Southern Ohio most of the day. Temps start in the upper 40s Thursday morning, then warm to around 70 in the afternoon with northeast winds at 5–15 mph. Rain chances are around 20%, mainly early and across Southern Ohio. Thursday will easily be the nicest day on the 7-day forecast, so get yardwork done or enjoy some time outside with the sunshine.

Friday starts dry with morning temps in the lower 50s. Clouds increase through the day with rain returning, especially during the afternoon and evening. Highs warm to around 70. Rain chances remain lower in the morning, then increase later in the day. Rain chances are around 80% Friday.

Rain sticks around through the weekend and early next week. Saturday carries about an 80% chance of rain, then rain chances decrease slightly to around 60% Sunday, Memorial Day Monday, and Tuesday with scattered rain and storms. Highs warm to around 78 Saturday, 80 Sunday and Monday, then 82 Tuesday. Have a good one!
