Child struck and killed in Minnow Lake: reports

Greater Sudbury Mayor Paul Lefebvre has offered his condolences after a child was reportedly struck and killed by a car in Minnow Lake on Tuesday.

Media reports say a child on foot was struck at the Palace Place Co-op at the end of the school day.

“Absolutely heartbroken to learn of the tragic loss of a young child following an accident at the end of the school day earlier today on the way home,” said Lefebvre, in the social media post.

“On behalf of the City of Greater Sudbury, I want to extend my deepest condolences to the child’s family, friends, classmates, educators and everyone impacted by this devastating tragedy.

“We are holding all those affected in our thoughts including the first responders at the scene and asking everyone to keep the family in their hearts during this unimaginable time.”
