90 Day Fiancé star Jenny Slatten shared her ALS diagnosis in an interview with People. She first began experiencing symptoms of migraines, difficulties drinking water and swallowing pills, and slurred speech patterns. It wasn’t until a fan suggested searching ALS that Slatten and her husband, Sumit Singh, found some clarity. “And then I find out that these symptoms she was having — this is what it looks like,” Singh explained. The couple remembered that Slatten’s father died from complications of ALS a decade prior. “We cried and held each other,” Slatten shared when she got diagnosed. They’re currently looking into genetic testing to see if there is a way to slow down the progression of the condition. “I don’t want to be treated any different,” Slatten concluded. “Let’s just live our life as we have been while we can.”
Her diagnosis news comes shortly before her and Singh’s upcoming season of 90 Day: The Last Resort, in which couples enter a group therapy retreat to try to save their relationships. Thankfully, it seems like the couple has made it out of the resort stronger than ever. Slatten says, “And we’re happy that we’re together.”
