A severe thunderstorm watch is now in effect for parts of the region, marking a turbulent end to the heat wave as an incoming cold front shakes things up. Record highs and record warm lows will be in jeopardy once again along the Interstate 95 corridor. Scattered severe storms with damaging winds and hail will be possible Wednesday afternoon/evening in places like New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington. Heat relief arrives Thursday as temperatures drop into the 60s for millions.
