Internet breaks after Stephon Castle posterizes Isaiah Hartenstein

NBA conference finals predictions

Breaking down the NBA conference finals between the Knicks-Cavaliers and Thunder-Spurs.

We witnessed one of the greatest postseason slams of all-time as San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle rose up and put Oklahoma City Thunder center Isaiah Hartenstein on a poster during Game 2 of the Western Conference finals on May 20.

Castle drove the basket with 8:19 remaining in the second quarter and the Spurs trailed 43-39 as they were building momentum to climb back from a deficit.

The lane opened up. Castle took off before he posterized Hartenstein.

Here’s another angle of the poster.

These reactions from teammate Victor Wembanyama and Basketball Hall of Famer Reggie Miller, who’s on the play-by-play broadcast call for NBC.

This angle, in slow motion makes it the dunk even look more vicious.

And don’t forget the screensaver. The poster itself. Turn it into a Fathead, it’s wallpaper material.

Despite the momentum-changing score, the Spurs still trailed throughout most of the second quarter.

It was Hartenstein and the Thunder who would have the last laugh though. Oklahoma City won Game 2, 122-113, on May 20, behind a game-high 30 points from back-to-back MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Hartenstein contributed a double-double, 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Castle finished with 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting. He added five rebounds and eight assists. He struggled to take care of the ball and shoot from deep, going 1-of-6 on 3-point attempts and committing nine turnovers in Game 2.

Their series is split 1-1. Game 3 is Friday, May 22 at 8:30 p.m. ET as the series shifts back to San Antonio.
