Eight new movies and TV shows to watch this Memorial Day weekend

‘Jack Ryan: Ghost War’
Following the conclusion of the hit show in 2023, Krasinski is back as the famed Tom Clancy character in the follow-up film “Jack Ryan: Ghost War,” now streaming on Prime Video. The Massachusetts native, who also co-wrote the movie, returns as Ryan for another mission, reuniting with friends old and new to take on a black-ops unit gone bad. ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’
See a pair of legendary old films in a new light with “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair,” streaming Friday. Released in theaters in December and now arriving on Peacock, the long-awaited project combines Quentin Tarantino’s pair of “Kill Bill” movies into one epic experience — if you have the stomach for more than four hours of gory martial arts mayhem. An adaptation of the French film “I Am Not an Easy Man,” “Ladies First” streams Friday on Netflix. In the new comedy, Sacha Baron Cohen plays a chauvinistic executive who finds himself transported to a parallel Earth where women rule society. The flick also stars Rosamund Pike and Richard E. Grant. Available on Netflix
Ryan Gosling teams up with a rocky alien for a space-faring mission to save the world in “Project Hail Mary,” now available to rent or purchase via video-on-demand platforms. In addition to an impressive box office run, the film was lauded by critics. The Globe’s Odie Henderson awarded “Project Hail Mary” four stars, calling it “a lovely, bittersweet character study, a pas de deux between man and alien that elicits a surprising amount of emotions by the time the credits roll.” Available on video-on-demand platforms

Hosted this year by Queen Latifah, the annual celebration will air live from Las Vegas Monday at 8 p.m. on CBS and stream on Paramount+ (live for premium subscribers, available to watch the next day for essential plan members). ‘The Yogurt Shop Murders: The Final Chapter’
“The Yogurt Shop Murders” returns with a special new episode, airing Friday at 9 p.m. on HBO and streaming the same day on HBO Max. The riveting docuseries chronicles the horrific murders of four teen girls in Austin, Texas, during the early ’90s. The new episode follows developments in the case by Austin police that came after the docuseries’ debut last year. Available on HBO Max
For fans who still can’t get Kylie Minogue out of their heads, the Australian pop legend pulls back the curtain on her acclaimed career in “Kylie,” now streaming on Netflix. The three-part docuseries was directed by Emmy winner Michael Harte, whose previous credits include “Three Identical Strangers” and “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie.” Available on Netflix
‘World War II with Tom Hanks’
Actual history on the History Channel? Just in time for Memorial Day, “World War II with Tom Hanks” premieres on the History Channel beginning Monday at 8 p.m., dropping the first three episodes of the reportedly 20-part series. Hanks narrates this globe-spanning look back at WWII, and also serves as an executive producer. Premiering Monday on the History Channel
