Pitching Matchups For Series Between Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals

The Seattle Mariners, despite being three games below .500, are still in the thick of the American League West – and playoff – race.
The Mariners are currently third in the division and 2.5 games behind the Athletics for first place.

Seattle will be looking to make a push into first place in a six-game road trip, comprised of a separate three-game series against boththe Kansas City Royals and Athletics.
The Mariners will have a great opportunity make that push against the Royals, who have lost nine of their last 10 games.
Here are the pitching matchups for the series between Seattle and Kansas City.
Seattle starting pitcher Logan Gilbert will be looking to get back on track against the Royals after a disappointing outing against the San Diego Padres on May 16. He struck out five, walked two and allowed seven earned runs on five hits (three home runs) in 6.2 innings pitched.

Noah Cameron will be looking to put up his second consecutive quality start. He fanned four and allowed three earned runs on five hits in six innings of work against the St. Louis Cardinals on May 16.
George Kirby, like Gilbert, struggled against the Padres. He struck out six, walked two and allowed six earned runs on as many hits (two homers) in 5.2 innings of work on May 17.

Stephen Kolek will be entering his outing against the Mariners coming off a shutout outing. He fanned three, walked one, hit a batter and allowed four hits in 6.1 innings against the Cardinals on May 17.
Bryan Woo will enter his outing against Kansas City coming off his third no-run start of the season. He struck out eight, walked two and allowed three hits against the Chicago White Sox on May 18. He pitched six innings.

Woo will also be looking for a semblance of revenge against the Royals. He fanned two and allowed six earned runs on seven hits (two homers) in six innings of work in a previous outing against Kansas City on May 1.
Seth Lugo is coming off his second quality start in four outings. He struck out five, walked two and allowed two earned runs on five hits (one homer) in six innings against the Boston Red Sox on May 18.
Lugo’s last quality start before his appearance against Boston was against the Mariners on May 2. He fanned six, walked two and allowed two earned runs on eight hits in six innings.
