Danny Dyer’s “impressive” one-man British thriller lands new UK streaming home

Danny Dyer currently has two TV shows dropping new episodes every week: the ’80s-set rompathon Rivals on Disney+ and, as of today, gameshow Nobody’s Fool on ITV. If that isn’t enough Dyer for you, there was also the Clarkson’s Farm-esque The Dyers’ Caravan Park a few months ago.
But while he’s doing a lot of TV, the former EastEnders star is keeping his toes in the world of film. In fact, his latest movie project One Last Deal has just dropped on streaming today via Sky/NOW Cinema.
Set solely in an office, the film stars Dyer as football manager Jimmy Banks, who will do anything to secure a major deal for his client, morals be damned.

Who’s in One Last Deal?
As a one-man film, the only person you see on screen in One Last Deal is Dyer himself. However, other actors provide their voices for the characters you hear Jimmy talk to on the phone (or dog and bone, as Dyer would say)
They include:
- Elliott Rogers (Casualty, Doctors)
- Jonny Everett (Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, Three Families)
- Paul Kennedy (House of the Dragon, The Fall)
- Carlos Bardem (In the Grey, Assassin’s Creed)
- Katy Cavanagh-Jupe (Julie Carp in Coronation Street)
- Jo Whiley (Jo Whiley)
What did critics say about One Last Deal?
There are only nine critic reviews collected on Rotten Tomatoes, so it doesn’t have a score on the Tomatometer at the time of writing. Eight of those reviews are positive, which would make it 89% positive rounded up.
Film Ireland Magazine called it an “impressive screenwriting debut for Peter Howlett”, citing “razor sharp” dialogue and “unfortunately quite timely” themes, while the Daily Express said the story “will keep you hooked” even if you don’t like football.
Former Danny Dyer-feuder Mark Kermode really didn’t like it, calling it “overwrought” and commenting that it felt longer than its 88 minutes, although he commended the production and set design.

Where can I watch One Last Deal?
The film is available via Sky Cinema, which also means that it’s available via NOW if you have the Cinema subscription.
At the time of writing, it doesn’t look like it’s available to buy or rent digitally, although Amazon has a DVD/Blu-ray product page up with a placeholder release date.
What else can I watch Danny Dyer in?
As mentioned above, Rivals is currently dropping new episodes on Fridays on Disney+. The latest episode features Dyer’s character Freddie Jones doing something he probably shouldn’t in a swimming pool.
Nobody’s Fool premieres tonight at 9pm on ITV1, with Dyer and Rivals co-star Emily Atack hosting. It’s aiming to fill that The Traitors void in your life, although the actor insists it’s “a different kind of thing”.
