All-rounder sees team to first win this season

Young Kent all-rounder Jaydn Denly helped Whitstable to a first Kent League Premier Division win of the season at Minster on Saturday.
With the hosts having been set a target of 227, Denly, 20, son of skipper Sam Denly, claimed figures of 5-19 as Minster were bowled out for 176 despite James Speer’s 41.

Australian overseas bowler Cullan Larkin (40 not out) and Will Cook (34 not out) earlier shared a vital unbeaten 73-run stand in Whitstable’s 226-9. Former Bangladesh international Enamul Haque took 5-22 from his 10 overs for Minster.
Tunbridge Wells made it three league triumphs from three with an eight-wicket win at Bexley.
After recording a first-class career-best 180 in Kent’s draw against Durham at Beckenham last week, 19-year-old Dawkins blasted 109 not out from 86 balls in an innings that included nine fours and eight maximums to see Tunbridge Wells home in the 30th over.
Ben Aldred (59), Zeph Netherway (52) and George Haley (50) contributed half-centuries in Bexley’s 230 all out while Matthew Barker returned figures of 4-25 from 10 overs.
Bromley also maintained their perfect start with a seven-wicket home win against St Lawrence & Highland Court.

Captain Matt Hammond (41) top scored in the away side’s 168 all out as Ryan Cartwright (2-24), Marcus Lilley (2-25), Archie Ramanathan (2-25) and Aditya Kumar (2-34) claimed scalps.
In reply, Sean Thompson’s unbeaten 36 saw Bromley over the line after opener Stan Greenleaf had been dismissed for the same score.
William MacVicar-inspired Hayes saw off Blackheath at home.
MacVicar’s unbeaten 105, supported by captain Alex Blake (67) and opener William Harby (59), helped Hayes to 326-4.
Half-centuries from skipper George Wells and opener Charlie-Sid Speller with 81 and 73, respectively, proved in vain as MacVicar (4-30) also bowled nicely.

Sevenoaks Vine proved much too strong for early basement boys Lordswood.
Bradley Hope and skipper Luke Schlemmer with 128 not out and 108, respectively, steered Vine to 300-3 from their allocation.
In reply, ex-Kent bowler George Garrett (3-20) left the efforts of Joe Gordon (70) in vain as Lordswood were dismissed for 177 inside the 37th over.
