‘Summer House’ Reunion: All the Questions We Need Answered

Every Bravo fan’s group chat blew up on March 31, the day Summer House stars West Wilson and Amanda Batula ended weeks of online speculation and confirmed that they’re exploring a “connection.” And ever since, we’ve all been wondering just what the hell was going to happen at the reunion. How would Amanda’s estranged husband, Kyle Cooke, and West’s ex-girlfriend and Amanda’s best friend, Ciara Miller, react? Would Lindsay Hubbard fly off the handle? Would Levi Sebree even be allowed to attend?

The reunion filmed on April 23 (yes, Levi was allowed in), but that hasn’t been the end of the drama. Everyone has been posting throughout, many cast members have been on Watch What Happens Live, Ciara sat down with Glamour and subsequently announced new jobs on Dancing With the Stars and Love Island USA: Aftersun, and West’s nudes leaked (sorry, sis, I’m not linking to those, but he did talk about it) and he got embroiled in a controversy over whether he slept with The Real Housewives of New Jersey “friend of” Jenn Fessler. It has been, in a word, wild.

But still, we wonder, what will happen at the reunion? Three audio clips from the taping leaked online shortly after filming, and we’ve gotten a trailer, but that’s about all we know. Anticipation is high and there is a ton of information we still don’t have. Here are all the questions we need Andy Cohen to make sure are answered over the three parts of this reunion.

• When, exactly, did Amanda and West first hook up? Was it before the Super Bowl in February, as Dave Portnoy (of all people) suggested, or was it later? Was it before Kyle and Amanda announced their separation, when Amanda said she broke her wedding vows? We’re going to need specific dates, times, locations, and proof of all three.

• What kind of emotions preceded the hookup? When did they start having feelings for each other? Who expressed it first, and who made the first move?

• Was there an “emotional affair”? If so, when did it start? Was it as early as the summer during filming?

• Thanks to the In the City premiere, we know that Amanda moved out of her and Kyle’s apartment for a month in early September. Did this have anything to do with West?

• We saw West and Ciara make out in the season finale; did their hooking up continue? If so, how far did it go, how often was it, and when was the last time it happened?

• In the finale, Ciara also said that she and West needed to talk about where they were headed as friends and possible lovers. Did that conversation ever happen? They were hanging out at the Super Bowl; what was the status of their relationship then?

• Was there any overlap between Amanda and Ciara?!?!?!?!

Likelihood These Will Be Answered: No one was leaving that set until they gave a very clear indication of what went down and when, so very likely.

• What did Jesse Solomon (always both names) know before the announcement, and when did he know?

• There’s been discussion of a cast brunch during which people started to have suspicions. When and where was this brunch, and what made people suspicious?

• Was this brunch before or after the rumors were first published on Deux Moi? Do we know the source of those rumors? What did everyone first think when they heard the rumors? What did West and Amanda tell them about the rumors and when?

• We know that they were lying about the rumors — why? Doesn’t that make it worse?

• Amanda and Ciara were scheduled to film an “Amazon Live” together and ended up doing it separately. Who canceled it? And was this because of the rumors?

• It’s been rumored that there is a video of Amanda and West hooking up. Is this true? If so, who took the video? Who has seen the video? Did Paige DeSorbo really hire a private investigator to find out if West and Amanda were dating, and did that person take the video? Does the video have something to do with Scheana Shay? I bet it does.

Likelihood These Will Be Answered: These are all pretty standard, so they should be.

• Who exactly wrote this statement? Was it ChatGPT? Did West have any input on the statement? Did Bravo? Did their publicists?

• Why issue the statement then? Was it because of the video?

• Who knew about the statement beforehand? Did Ciara and Kyle get any advance notice? Did the rest of the cast? What did everyone do when they found out? Was there a group meetup?

• Would the cast have reacted as badly to their relationship if West and Amanda didn’t lie to them all about it before?

• We’re going to need a play-by-play of Ciara reading the statement on the street, collapsing in front of an Hermès store, and being helped by a local neighborhood homosexual. Can we get that?

• Was Carl really a mess? Is he still messy? Why is Carl so messy? How long between Kyle saying that Carl was a mess and Lindsay getting on the phone to Uber Eats and pitching some spon-con about his being a mess? Has this healed their relationship? Wait! Are Carl and Lindsay going to get back together because of this?

Likelihood These Will Be Answered: Actually, a lot of this has been discussed already, but we still need to hear about it in context of the greater narrative and timeline.

• When did West and Amanda start reaching out to people, and to whom did they reach out? Who is still talking to whom? Who is or isn’t texting back?

• Who is taking this the hardest? KJ especially seems like he’s having a hard time. Why is he so upset?

• How does Kyle feel about the disclosure? How is this affecting his and Amanda’s divorce proceedings? Was he hurt by West as well as Amanda? (And while we’re asking Kyle questions: Meghan King Edmonds? Really?!)

• Lindsay has been very vocal about how she feels about this in public; what does she want to say to West and Amanda now? Will she be as activated on the couch? (That one I can answer. Yes. She will be the Lala Kent of this reunion.)

• What is up with Amanda and West now? Is this going to go the distance, as Lisa Barlow says? Has she met his parents? Speaking of parents, we all know that her dad is probably thrilled about her separation from Kyle, but how does he feel about her relationship with West?

Likelihood These Will Be Answered: Very likely to be asked, but whether they’re answered to our satisfaction is a different matter.

• What is going on with the next season of Summer House? Who is going to be back and who isn’t? Will Ben be on it, and if Ben is on it, does he have to bring his girlfriend, Sabrina? (Please say no.)

• Will Ciara ever film with West and/or Amanda again? Will Ciara even be on the show now that she’s going to be filming Love Island USA: Aftersun?

• What’s up with In the City? Will Amanda be welcomed back for season two? Will West be with her if they’re still together? Is the rumored Summer House franchise in the Ozarks still happening with West as an anchor?

• Will Kyle and Lindsay even want to film with them?

• And what about Carl? Where do we put him?

Likelihood These Will Be Answered: I honestly don’t think Bravo knows the answers to these yet, and July Fourth is just around the corner.

• Just … why? Why would Amanda and West do this? Did they know how terribly it would come off? Couldn’t they have just stopped hanging out and moved on with other people?

• Did either of them even think about Ciara? Did everything she did for Amanda during the dissolution of her marriage mean nothing?

• Did they ruin the entire show?

Likelihood These Will Be Answered: I don’t think we’ll ever really understand.
