Traffic held on M25 for ‘police-led incident’

Traffic was being held in both directions on the M25 following concerns for a person’s welfare.
Police and the fire service were at the scene between Junctions 1A and 1B for Dartford, near the Dartford Crossing.

Officers were called at 2.10pm to reports of a concern for a person’s welfare near Watling Street.
Road closures were in place while the incident was dealt with.
By 3.40pm, all traffic had been released, but National Highways said there were still delays of an hour and six miles of congestion on the approach.
Kent County Council’s highways team warned drivers to expect long queues in and around the area and to approach with caution.
