The province’s police watchdog says it has now invoked its mandate to investigate an arrest in the Town of Kingsville on Monday morning.
According to OPP, it happened when officers from the Essex County OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Grandview Avenue, just before 8:30 a.m.
Following the initial investigation, one person was arrested and during that arrest, a taser was deployed by police, the OPP said.
While in custody, police say the individual showed signs of needing medical attention and was transported to hospital by ambulance. Police have not provided any information on the individual’s condition at this time.
