Details on the death of NASCAR star Kyle Busch have been disclosed in his death certificate.

If you didn’t see the sad news, it was announced that the NASCAR driver had tragically died on Thursday, May 21 after a “severe illness.” He was 41-years-old. His cause of death was then confirmed to be severe pneumonia that progressed into sepsis.

According to the death certificate, he suffered from a “chain of events” and was suffering from bacterial pneumonia for days or weeks before his shocking passing.

Us Weekly obtained the death certificate, and they detailed a surprising chain of events.

They report: that it started with pneumonia and then progressed into sepsis, which he apparently only had for about one day. “The sepsis then led to disseminated intravascular coagulation, or small clots that form in the bloodstream and block blood flow to the organs. That led to hemorrhagic shock, which is caused by severe internal or external blood loss.”

Kyle made his final public appearance just days ago during a race and his final Instagram post was a touching tribute to his son.
