Former WWE Star Curtis Axel Arrested on Multiple Charges

Former WWE Superstar Curtis Axel, i.e., Joseph Hennig, was reportedly arrested in Minnesota earlier this month.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Axel was arrested in Anoka County, Minnesota, on May 17, 2026. The third-generation pro wrestler was charged with DUI. The charges include third-degree driving while impaired, refusing to give a chemical test, obstructing the lawful execution of a legal process, possessing an open bottle of alcohol in the car, and failing to stop after an accident to property that did not involve any injuries.
According to court records, Curtis Axel was released from prison two days later, i.e., May 19.
Curtis was a part of WWE from 2007 to 2020 before being released from his contract in April as part of the COVID-19-related budget cuts. During his tenure, Axel won the Intercontinental Championship once and the RAW Tag Team Championship twice. He was rehired in April 2022 as a producer, but the 46-year-old was let go three months later.
