Netflix has given the verdict on popular comedy series Strip Law, cancelling the series after just one season.
The adult animated sitcom, featuring the voices of Severance star Adam Scott, Abbott Elementary’s Janelle James and Stephen Root (Barry), debuted to positive reviews upon its release in February 2026.
But now creator Cullen Crawford has been informed by streaming service bosses that they’re swinging the axe on the series.

He wrote on Bluesky: “So they told me there’s not going to be any more Strip Law at Netflix.
Crawford continued: “I really can’t be anything but grateful.
“At every phase, it was made by talented people in pursuit of nothing but pure chaotic delirious joy and I’m so so proud of it. Thank you to everyone who gave it chance.”
Strip Law is set in Las Vegas and follows a lawyer who, after being kicked out of his mother’s law firm following her death, starts his own company and hires a ragtag bunch of employees.
The series was a modest critical hit, but failed to hit the top 10, which more than likely secured its fate.
Last month, Netflix called time on one of its former biggest shows, The Night Agent, confirming that season four, which is currently in production, will be the last.
Gabriel Basso stars in the show as Peter Sutherland, a low-level FBI agent who becomes embroiled in an international conspiracy involving a Russian agent and the highest levels of US government.
When it was first released in 2023, The Night Agent – based on the Matthew Quirk novel of the same name – became the most-watched show on Netflix globally in the first half of the year, racking up 812 million hours of viewed time for its 10 episodes.

Seasons two and three followed in 2025 and 2026, respectively, and delivered solid ratings despite failing to reach the figures of its first season. However, it is widely believed that the show’s quality improved as it went on.
Season four has been devised as the finale, meaning viewers will get a conclusion to the story – and creator Shawn Ryan (The Shield) is happy about the show’s fate.
Other shows to fall victim to Netflix’s axe in recent months include Western The Abandons, Terminator Zero, Billionaires’ Bunker, Alice in Borderland and Spanish series Class.
