Vehicles are being held on the M66 and queues are building on the M60 following a crash near to Simister Island.
Traffic has been stopped on the northbound M66, between junctions four at Simister Island and three at Pilsworth Road.
The incident is affecting drivers trying to join the M66 from the M60, with heavy traffic on the M60 in the Prestwich area.
