Sabrina Carpenter has been granted a temporary restraining order against a 31-year-old male fan who tried to enter her home in California.

On June 1st, Los Angeles County court issued an order prohibiting William Applegate from being within 100 yards of her Hollywood Hills home. The ‘Espresso’ singer shares the abode with her sister and her sister’s partner.

“His pattern of stalking, trespassing, and surveillance has caused me severe and ongoing emotional distress,” Carpenter wrote in a signed declaration, adding, “I am in fear [of] what he may do if he is not restrained by this Court.”

The civil harassment restraining order was filed on May 29th, alleging that he approached her front door on May 23rd, after stalking her from as far back as April 20th.

During that incident, he reportedly tried to force her door open in a “deeply alarming” attempt to get closer to her.

Despite a security guard attempting to remove the man, he refused with “outrageous and entirely false” lies that she was expecting him. The police soon arrived to arrest him.

Despite this incident, he was back two days later. Carpenter wrote, “His delusional insistence that he knows me and was expected by me is indicative of a dangerous, delusional and irrational fixation on me.”

For the 27-year-old, his attempted entry of her home was “among the most disturbing violations of personal safety and privacy I have ever experienced.”

Director Peter Doomanis of the Los Angeles Police Department agreed that Applegate’s “trajectory is consistent with well-documented patterns of stalking behaviour that pose a serious and escalating risk [to] victim safety.”

A follow-up court hearing is scheduled for June 17th.

Carpenter is currently taking a break from touring after an outrageously busy 2025 saw her headline numerous festivals including Primavera Sound in Barcelona and BST Hyde Park.

Recently, the star collaborated with Madonna on a new track, ‘Bring Your Love’, which was debuted during Carpenter’s headline set at Coachella on April 17th.
