Cedar Rapids man arrested in child prostitution sting

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A Cedar Rapids man believed he was meeting up with teenage girls for sex, but was greeted by police instead.
Court documents say Richard Dryml is charged with two felony counts of prostitution of a minor.
Cedar Rapids officers say Dryml reached out online to the department’s dummy account posing as a 15-year-old girl advertising prostitution. Investigators said Dryml continued to discuss having sex with the minor, despite investigators repeating that the account holder was 15.
The criminal complaint says Dryml asked if the girl had a female friend. The account told him that she had a 14-year-old friend. Dryml reportedly negotiated payment for both girls in exchange for sex.
On April 25, Dryml arrived at the meetup location, where officers confronted him. Investigators noted that his phone vibrated when they contacted him on the account, and he reportedly admitted to the rendezvous.
Officers issued a warrant for his arrest in late May. Dryml had an initial appearance in Linn County Court Tuesday morning setting his bond at $20,000. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on June 12.
