Madonna performs surprise concert in New York City’s Times Square

The 15-minute pop-up concert coincided with the beginning of Pride Month and comes weeks before the release of the 67-year-old pop icon’s “Confessions II” album.

Madonna, who showcased some of her classic hits and songs from her new album, partnered with dating app Grindr and started a countdown for her surprise performance.
“Grindr did such a great thing about announcing it, taking care of all of us to get out here,” fan Dylan Santos said.
Grindr CEO George Arison said he couldn’t believe it when Madonna’s team reached out.
“I thought it was a scam,” he said.
The pop-up show was like a prayer answered for diehard fans.
“It caught me by surprise,” one fan said.
“I felt alive. I felt proud,” fan Eric Ocasio said.
“It was electric. It was insane,” Victor Hugo said.
Madonna’s 15th studio album is scheduled to be released on July 3.
Madonna will also headline the first FIFA World Cup Final halftime show with Shakira and BTS on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
