What Dylan Larkin’s trade request means for Rangers, Vincent Trocheck

The Rangers’ Vincent Trocheck is no longer the top center on the market in the wake of Dylan Larkin’s trade request from his hometown team, the Red Wings.
News of Larkin wanting out of Detroit, first reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, cut to the hearts of Wings fans, but it couldn’t be classified as a shock by those inside or outside of general manager Steve Yzerman’s operation.
Still, it’s difficult to imagine the Red Wings without the Michigan native they drafted 15th overall in 2014 and later named captain at the age of 24.
With a no-move clause for the upcoming 2026-27 season and the next, Larkin is in full control of his fate. The Detroit Free Press reported Monday that Larkin provided Yzerman with a list of three teams he’d want to play for: the Wild, the Golden Knights and the Panthers.
