Barron Trump Launches Premium Energy Drink

Barron Trump is moving from the political sidelines to the beverage aisle, People reports. The 19-year-old, listed as a director of new drink company SOLLOS Yerba Mate, has rolled out the brand’s first product: a pineapple-coconut energy tea aimed squarely at Florida’s sun-soaked lifestyle. Sold only in a single flavor for now, the organic Brazilian yerba mate drink comes in 12-packs priced at $39, with each can clocking in at 50 calories and 120 milligrams of naturally occurring caffeine.

The company, founded by Trump and a small group of South Florida friends in their late teens and early 20s, pitches the drink as “clean, functional, and great-tasting,” designed to refresh surfers and fuel tennis matches. On its site, SOLLOS says it skipped the usual multi-flavor launch to focus on “one flavor until it was flawless.” A LinkedIn post explains the name as a nod to the sun’s cycle—”SOL,” the Spanish word for sun, for sunrise, and “LOS,” sol spelled backward, for sunset—meant to capture life in the Sunshine State from first light to last.

The Daily Beast reports the brand was being hit with backlash over the price, and notes that a 12-pack of Red Bull will run you $17 to $25. But the Globe reports some on X were giving the drink good reviews, as was one reviewer at Slate. “You know what … is heartbreaking? When the worst person you know has a grown-up son who has never made a good point in his life, but you have to admit he made a pretty decent yerba mate drink,” writes Heather Schwedel, who acknowledges the beverage is pricey but admits she “kind of loved it.”
