The Detroit Tigers are in a rain delay.
The Tigers and Minnesota Twins entered a rain delay Tuesday, June 9, before the opener of a three-game series at Comerica Park. First pitch was initially scheduled for 6:40 p.m., but the game won’t start on time.
It’s unclear when Tuesday’s game will begin.
The two teams are expected to play.
Right-hander Troy Melton is starting for the Tigers (27-39), opposed by right-hander Taj Bradley for the Twins (30-37).
The Tigers have won five of six games in June, including a walk-off win Sunday against Seattle, but are tied for 13th in the American League and 5½ games out of a playoff spot.
