Toronto officer shot during exchange of gunfire: police

Two people hospitalized after shots were fired while police were conducting a search warrant near Black Creek and Trethewey. CP24’s Courtney Heels reports.
An officer has been rushed to hospital via trauma run following an exchange of gunfire in the northwest end of the city, police say.
Police said officers were conducting a search warrant in the area of Black Creek and Trethewey drives at around 5:40 a.m. on Thursday when there was an exchange of gunfire.
The officer was shot, police said, and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Toronto paramedics say one other adult has been transported to hospital in critical condition.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) will be investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
