The countdown begins for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding, which is happening in less than a month — if all of the spoilers are to be believed.
The location seems to have shifted from her Rhode Island estate for an intimate wedding to the massive Madison Square Garden with 1,000 guests, per TMZ. There’s now an online debate as to whether the arena is nothing but a “decoy” to weed out the leak in their inner circle. Still, if they have it at the iconic Manhattan building, it’s going to come with a steep price tag.

NYC wedding planner Sonal Shah told the New York Post that “the cost of renting Madison Square Garden for a Saturday-night wedding is approximately $1 million to $2.5 million,” and that’s just for the space.
“A weekend night at one of the most iconic venues in the world is not just about renting the space — you’re also paying for exclusivity, staffing, security, operations, and the opportunity cost of a concert or sporting event that could otherwise be taking place,” she added. “Once you add production, security, catering, entertainment, and décor, a Madison Square Garden wedding could very realistically become a $10 million to $20 million-plus event.”
TMZ reported on June 5 that the dynamic duo has been in contact with the NYPD and private security companies to lock down the area, which makes sense given their A-list status and the high-wattage guests, including Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, Sabrina Carpenter, and Gigi Hadid.
While Madison Square Garden may seem like an out-of-pocket choice for Swift, she straight-out told talk show host Graham Norton that her wedding was going to be “huge” during an October 2025 interview. She even invited him as a guest in the middle of their conversation.
“If you’re inviting me, it’s very big,” Norton joked.
There were even rumors at one point that Prince William and Kate Middleton would be invited, which would probably have made security a logistical nightmare.
“Taylor Swift is one very canny operator — developing her fan base, working incredibly hard writing some of the most popular pop tunes of the last decade, and cementing a good friendship with the future king Prince William over 10 years ago — a relationship that has culminated in private letters, inspirational cards and good wishes to Princess Catherine during her difficult year,” a source told Fox News Digital in October 2025.
That could explain a $20 million tab if the royals were invited, but that rumor hasn’t resurfaced amid the wedding frenzy. For now, it’s nothing but speculation as Swifties and wedding experts try to decode what’s happening with Swift and Kelce’s big day.
