She first hit our screens in 1991 playing the role of Lindsey Corkhill in Brookside and more recently as Cassie Plummer in Coronation Street, but now Claire Sweeney is swapping soapland for the stage. Taking on one of musical theater’s most iconic characters, Clare is set to star as Miss Hannigan in the UK and Ireland tour of the hit musical Annie. She joins us in the studio to tell us what it was like filming her final scenes on Corrie, and how she’s feeling about joining the cast of Annie.
