Marcelo Saracchi Celtic transfer plan in place amid Boca decision

Celtic are reportedly set to open talks with Boca Juniors over a permanent deal for Marcelo Saracchi.
The 28-year-old Uruguayan left-back made 27 appearances for the Hoops last season during his loan stint.

He was even praised by manager Martin O’Neill for his performances including making a major impact in the final day win over Hearts.
Boca have informed Saracchi that he has no future at the club and is free to find a new club.
This has reportedly led the Scottish champions to engage in “preliminary talks” with the defender’s representation for a permanent move.
O’Neill is keen to retain Saracchi’s services before the pre-season begins, especially with Kieran Tierney currently away with Scotland at the World Cup.

The player, however, has attracted interest from MLS and Turkish clubs, so he is not short of options.
His asking price may be as low as around £2 million.
Despite starting just 10 times for Celtic last term, Saracchi is reportedly looking for assurances of playing time.
However, a hamstring injury did limit his minutes on the pitch as the club secured a league and cup double.
If a deal is struck, it could be a shrewd piece of business for Celtic.
