An unusual weather pattern is building in Florida: high heat, low rain chances

High heat, unusually low rain chances for summer in Central Florida

Dry weather for Tuesday

ORLANDO, Fla. – The typical summertime heat is here; the daily storms, not so much.

Tuesday will feature another afternoon where highs across all of Central Florida surge into the mid-to-upper 90s.

Highs Tuesday

The heat index at times will climb into the 100-105 range.

Cooling afternoon thunderstorms will be hard to come by, with chances only around 20%.

Future radar Tuesday afternoon

Gradually, by the end of the work week, rain chances start to tick back up.

An upper-level high-pressure system that has been responsible for the high heat and uncharacteristically low rain chances will start to break down, allowing for rain chances to rise.

Weather setup

A new chunk of high pressure builds for the weekend, lowering rain chances and helping the temperatures heat up again.
