Amazon, Morrisons and TikTok shoppers urged to return products after warnings

Shoppers should check their purchases to make sure they do not own any recalled items after safety warnings have been issued. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) recalls products for a number of reasons, including when products contain allergens that are not disclosed on the packaging or if an issue is detected with the item.
When a product is recalled the FSA shares details about what you should do if you have purchased the product, alongside detailed information about why it has been pulled from sale.
Every week in the UK several product recalls are published on the Government website. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) is responsible for updating the public on products which have been pulled from shelves.
Products are recalled regularly from a number of different retailers, for various reasons. Recalls published by the government website are for specific products that have been sold in the UK and may require you to act to receive a free replacement, repair or refund.
The OPSS said its primary purpose it to “protect people and places from product-related harm, ensuring consumers and businesses can buy and sell products with confidence.”
Products are recalled due to safety concerns, defects, or regulatory non-compliance among other reasons. This week we have rounded up the latest recalls below:
Amazon
Amazon are recalling their 50,000pc Water Beads because the product presents a high risk of asphyxiation and does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

The product is no longer available for sale because if the product is swallowed in its hydrated form, it can block a young child’s airway. Customers should immediately stop using the recalled items and contact the distributor of purchase for redress.
Morrisons
Morrisons are recalling their 230g Coronation Chicken Pasta because the product may contain undisclosed milk. The product with a use by date of June 30 is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to milk or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Morrisons said: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to milk do not eat it. Instead, please return it to the nearest Morrisons store to receive a full refund. We don’t need a receipt.
“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”
TikTok
TikTok has recalled Baby Floats with Canopies because the product presents a risk of drowning as the canopies may increase wind resistance and affect the stability of the float.

Baby Neck Floats are also being recalled by TikTok as the product presents a risk of drowning by potentially placing inappropriate pressure on the infant’s neck which may restrict normal movement or airway positioning.
