Vacant apartment building burns in Winnipeg’s St. Boniface neighbourhood

A fire shut down a Winnipeg street early Monday as flames burned through a vacant apartment building.
Crews were called to the boarded-up, three-storey building on Enfield Crescent, between Goulet and Marion streets, around 1:50 a.m.
They found heavy smoke and flames coming from it, according to a news release from the city.
A nearby apartment building was evacuated as a precaution, with residents given temporary shelter on Winnipeg Transit buses that were brought in.
The roof line was charred and much of the roof itself was gone by the time firefighters cleared the scene around 7 a.m.
No information has been provided on the cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
