‘Big Brother 27’ spoilers: Here’s who wins the HOH Wall competition after Lyric’s eviction (updating live)

Gold Derby is serving up Big Brother 28 spoilers all summer long. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Get comfortable. This one could take a while.

Five weeks in, the fan-fave Wall competition has arrived on Big Brother 28. The ultimate endurance challenge forces houseguests to stand on a narrow ledge with their backs pinned to a wall that tilts and shifts beneath them, all while getting sprayed with freezing water, gooey slime, and whatever else production can dream up. It has the potential to run for hours, and live feed viewers can’t get enough.

The Wall comp got underway shortly after Lyric Medeiros was evicted from the Big Brother house by an 8-3 vote over Melody Morris. Lyric wasn’t surprised to be walking out the door — she told Julie Chen Moonves her comp record made her a bigger threat than Melody. She stood by throwing her friends under the bus on the way out, saying she was playing for herself against a six-person alliance she knew was running the house, and named Drew Campbell and Barrett Pfeiffer as her targets had she won the next HOH.

But now that Lyric is riding off into the sunset to reunite with her newfound love, Rome Seymour, it’s time to find out what happens in her absence.

Outgoing Head of Household Haley Thogmartin was not eligible to compete this week, but the other 12 houseguests were: Angela Murray, Barrett, Chuk Anyanwu, Dee Valladares, Drew, Kamu Kirk, La Trice Verrett, Mallory Aurichio, Melody, Rick Devens, Taylor Brown, and Yash Patel.

Fun fact: the longest Wall comp in U.S. Big Brother history took place in Season 14, when Danielle Murphree lasted a whopping three hours, 16 minutes. The shortest? That was two summers ago, when Season 26’s Tucker Des Lauriers won in just 32 minutes. Last year’s champ was eventual BB27 runner-up Vince Panaro, who hung on for one hour, 14 minutes.

The Wall made its Big Brother debut in Season 10 and sat out Season 11, but it returned in Season 12 and has been a mainstay ever since.

And the winner is…

Feeds finally came on at 9:50 p.m. PT and Angela was already perched next to Haley on the bench, which means she was the first one down. Eleven players were still in the game. The backyard is decked out as the Bluff Creek Ranger Station at Six Rivers National Forest. Haley’s dressed as a park ranger and Big Foot keeps strolling by. “Repellent” in the form of blue paint has covered the houseguests.
