First Alert Forecast: Rain and cooler weather coming to Middle Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – We’ll need to keep the umbrella handy today in Middle Tennessee with a few showers expected this morning and into the afternoon.
NEXT 24 HOURS
Rain will mostly be light and cloud cover will linger otherwise across the Midstate. Highs today will top off in the upper 70s to low 80s. More widespread rain will develop late tonight and into our day tomorrow.

MORNING – A few showers. Cloudy. Temperatures near 70
AFTERNOON – Hit and miss showers. Mostly cloudy. Highs upper 70s to low 80s
EVENING – Mostly cloudy. Stray shower.
TUESDAY’S FORECAST
MORNING – Scattered showers. Some thunder. Temperatures in the 60s
AFTERNOON – Scattered showers and storms. High near 80
EVENING – A few showers and storms. Rain tapers off late. Lows in the 60s
Most of the Midstate should end up with 1-2″ of rain, but some isolated spots could see around 3″

REST OF THE WEEK
We could have a lingering shower or two Wednesday morning, but most of the area will dry out for the day. Clouds will be tough to break for the most part with temperatures in the mid 70s and lows in the 50s. Sunshine returns Thursday and Friday with temperatures ranging from the low to upper 70s across Middle Tennessee.
WEEKEND FORECAST
Saturday and Sunday will be slightly warmer with temperatures near and into the low 80s. We’ll have good sunshine all weekend long with some crisp and cooler overnight as temperatures continue to drop into the 50s.
