Where to watch Rutgers vs Washington today: Time, TV channel for Week 7 game

College football Week 6 straight-up picks

Before The Snap’s Week 6 picks and predictions include Vanderbilt-Alabama, Duke-Cal and Miami-Florida State.

The Big Ten has a loaded Week 7 schedule on Saturday, Oct. 11, headlined by a top-10 matchup between No. 2 Oregon and No. 7 Indiana.

Before that action kicks off, though, fans will get an appetizer on Friday in the form of one of the conference’s most storied, longest-standing rivalries (OK, not exactly).

Coming off a come-from-behind win last Saturday against a previously undefeated Maryland team, Washington will host Rutgers on Friday, Oct. 10 at Husky Stadium in Seattle in a meeting between schools on opposite ends of the coast-to-coast league.

In their second season under coach Jedd Fisch, the Huskies are 4-1, with their only defeat coming to No. 1 Ohio State. They’ve been carried by the nation’s No. 16 scoring offense, a unit averaging 39.4 points per game behind the arm and legs of quarterback Demond Williams Jr., who has 1,472 total yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Running back Jonah Coleman has been a force, as well, with an FBS-leading 10 rushing touchdowns.

They’ll look to get one win closer to bowl eligibility — and potentially a spot in the top 25 of the US LBM Coaches Poll — against a Rutgers team that’s 3-2 overall, but 0-2 in Big Ten play before making the 2,800-mile trek to the Pacific Northwest. Though the Scarlet Knights have primarily been known as a rugged, defensive-minded group under coach Greg Schiano, they’ve been explosive offensively this season, averaging 39 points per game. Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis is 15th among FBS quarterbacks in passing yards per game, with 279.8.

Rutgers won last year’s meeting between the programs, earning a 21-18 victory in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Rutgers vs Washington predictions, picks, odds

Odds courtesy of BetMGM as of Tuesday, Oct. 7

  • Spread: Washington -10.5
  • Over/under: 59.5 points
  • Moneyline: Washington -450 ∣ Rutgers +340

Prediction: Washington 36, Rutgers 27

Williams’ dual-threat ability will be too much for a Rutgers defense that hasn’t stopped much of anything this season against FBS opponents. Making the cross-country trip will only make the challenge more daunting for Schiano’s squad, which will put up a fight, but fall short.
