Game 5 of the ALDS takes place tonight between the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers. My MLB player props and home run analysis will highlight two players from this decisive contest — Cal Raleigh and Kerry Carpenter.

Read on for my Tigers vs. Mariners predictions for the home run market for Friday, October 10.

Tigers vs Mariners home run props

Tigers home run pick

Kerry Carpenter (+450 at BetMGM)

This pick is a no-brainer given the track record.

Kerry Carpenter already went deep in Game 1, and it was against tonight’s starter — George Kirby. In fact, Carpenter has five hits in 11 at-bats against the right-hander, and every single one left the ballpark.

Even though that Game 1 bomb was Carpenter’s only hit in the series, seeing Kirby on the bump will definitely give him some much-needed confidence here. He cracked 26 regular-season homers, and he’s always a threat to put one in the bleachers.

He could make Kirby pay once again.

Mariners home run pick

Cal Raleigh (+300 at BetMGM)

Cal Raleigh is smashing baseballs in the postseason, as he’s hitting .438 (7-for-16). While the slugger has only gone deep once, we know he rises to the occasion when the lights are brightest. A berth in the ALCS is obviously at stake tonight, and Raleigh will be up against Tarik Skubal.

It’s common knowledge that Skubal is a dominant force who rarely makes a mistake. But Raleigh is also the best power hitter in the sport right now. While he’s just 2-for-12 lifetime against the lefty, one of those hits was a round-tripper.

Raleigh had 28 homers at home this season, and 22 were off southpaws.
